Chicago has longed been known as a great area, with tremendous restaurants. Although, they made the pizza and hot dog popular, other types of cruises are also great here. When looking for fresh seafood, one should try McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant. This eatery has a long history in the area and is located near the historic Sofitel Chicago Water Tower. They serve entrees such as Cornmeal Crusted Walleye or a delicious Pretzel Crusted Whitefish. With entrees like this, one should not leave hungry, but they should leave room for desert. Is this new to you? Catch up here With melt in your mouth goodness, no wonder McCormick’s has long been a tradition here.

Blue Water Grill takes seafood to a whole new level. This upscale dinning establishment is serving decadent feasts like Lobster & Shrimp Benedict or Ginger-Soy Lacquered Chilean Sea Bass. This swank restaurant has dcor that is appealing to the eye. The rick dark woods and beautiful coral colors give one the feeling of being in a beach community. They have a full service bar that can whip up any drink of your choice. Chicago is full of fabulous restaurants to choose from. When visiting this area, take your time and enjoy a great seafood meal.

Chicago offers some of the best submarine sandwiches in the US. If you are planning on a visit to Chicago, or are a current resident looking to mix things up a bit here are some of the top rated submarine sandwiches to eat in Chicago. Not only are they all delicious and nutritious, they are affordable. From the classic sub to more complex options, here are the top three best subs available in the Chicago area.
Captain Nemo-s of Chicago Sub Sandwich
Captain Nemo-s of Chicago offers unique subs in half and full sizes. You can find a quick rundown here Try the turkey breast club, as this is no ordinary turkey club. It features double layers of fresh turkey breast with crispy bacon, lettuce and tomato. Topped with mayo and some Captain-s Secret Sauce- it truly is delicious.
Fontano-s Subs
Considered Chicago-s number one sub sandwich, Fontano-s Subs include the Blockbuster. One of Fontano-s favorites, the Blockbuster offers ham, Genoa salami, Capicola, provolone and Swiss cheese.
Conte di Savoia
Conte di Savoia is different as they offer soft rolls from Turano.

When visiting Chicago and seeking a great steak house you’ll be met with some nationally-known fare like Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, The Capital Grill, and The Palm; but if you want to experience some authentic Chicago that’s been around since 1941, you should definitely make sure you put Gene & Georgetti on your itinerary (and in your tummy). Founded by Italian-born Gene Michelotti and Alfredeo “Gerogetti” Federighi the restaurant has attracted the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, and Lucille Ball over the years as well as current celebrities like Russell Crowe and Vince Vaughn; and it has even been serving some of the same customers for more than 50 years!Start your dinner with a delicious appetizer like Shrimp De Jonghe or Stuffed Mushrooms and then move on to an aged prime beef entre (ranging from Filet Mignon to T-bone and everything in between) or Italian delights such as Chicken Vesuvio or Eggplant Parmigiana for those non-steak eaters in the crowd. And for seafood lovers there are Lobster, Salmon, Chilean Sea Bass, and Shrimp specialties to choose from, as well. The menu is expansive and goes on to include the requisite (and delicious) authentic pasta dishes, wide array of vegetable sides, and the oh-so-delicious desserts like Spumoni, Tiramisu, and Chocolate Tuxedo Mousse Cheesecake. With a menu like this you know that reservations are encouraged since the restaurant and its classic Chicago-era ambiance fills up quickly. Call 312.527.3718. Dress code is business casual. Located at 500 Franklin Street.

If you find yourself craving a fix for your “Chicago thin” pizza addiction you might want to check out a few of these local favorites that were reviewed by Chicago Magazine in their search for the “best” of the best the City has to offer. While we wish we could have sampled each one for its culinary delight, we defer to the ultimate recommendations for the “perfect pie” as made by the magazine. Great Lake (1477 W. Balmoral Avenue) reviewers recommended trying the cremini mushroom and dante cheese combo. Crust (2056 W. Division Street) reviewers recommended the flammkuchen (which is a thin pizza with crme fraiche instead of tomato sauce how yummy does that sound?) Union Pizzeria (1245 Chicago Avenue, Evanston) reviewers recommended the lamb sausage, eggplant, and kalamata olive combo. Macello (1235 W. Lake Street) reviewers recommend the Bianca for a true flavor delight.Pizano’s (864 N. State Street) reviewers recommended the plain old sausage with its carmelized edges. Coco Pazza (300 W. Hubbard Street) reviewers recommended the coppa (dry-cured pork that is renowned to be more tender than prosciutto).Apart Pizza Company (2205 W. Montrose Avenue) reviewers recommend the restaurants signature pie which includes sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Gruppo Di Amici (1508 W. Jarvis Avenue) reviewers recommended the funghi e formaggi a delectable combination of mushrooms and goat cheese. Paula & Monica’s (1518 W. Chicago Avenue) offers up a thin with sausage that reviewers found to be their favorite. Aurelio’s (18162 Harwood Avenue) received accolades for its thin with black olives cooked in an oven dating back to 1959.

We love our pasta and pizza dishes, and luckily, Chicago has a variety of Italian restaurants to serve up our favs. We’ve been to a few, and while it was hard to choose, we’ve picked 3 that we’d highly recommend.Phil Stefani’s 437 RushThe restaurant offers delectable Italian meals and steaks. Some of 437 Rush’s best steaks include the Filet Mignon and Veal Chop. However, there’s plenty pasta and seafood choices, too. Whichever dish you pick, the Italian chef (Federico Comacchio) ensures that best Italian flavor is delivered in your meal.312 Chicago312 Chicago is noteworthy for its package choices: the Assagi pranzo and the Assagi Cena. For a fixed price (different for each option), you’re given a delicious three course meal offering a variety of dishes; such as the Rigatoni Bolognase or the Talapia. If you decide against a package, the menu di cena and the menu di pranzo offers many of the same choices, and additional meals, too.Tuscany on TaylorWhether you’re looking for a wood-fired pizza (like the Regina with Tuscan sausage) or a Melanzane (eggplant parmigiana), Tuscany on Taylor has it all. We particularly love their spaghetti which, alongside your traditional marinara sauce, has clams, octopus, shrimp, calamari, and mussels; definitely a dish for the seafood lover.

For anyone who appreciates city style, there’s nothing like being in Chicago. Tavern at the Park recreates that urban feel, and provides the chance to unwind and enjoy the city. The dark wood furniture, with the neutral beige walls and vintage Chicago posters, create a luxurious restaurant that blends both past and present dcor. In-fact, Tavern at the Park resembles a millionaire’s penthouse, but with a roaring twenties atmosphere. Plus, the bar and balcony big windows, as well as the patio space, allow for great views of the city. The restaurant offers a variety of menu options. On Saturday Tavern at the Park offers a lunch menu and a nightly special. The Saturday lunch menu is available from 12 to 4pm and offers delicious starters, salads, and sandwiches. We particularly like “The Big Mike,” which puts fried egg, cheddar, provolone, and all the best toppings on two burgers. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, but for the rest of the week you can chose from a comprehensive lunch menu. More than just sandwiches, soups and salads, you can indulge in a mouth-watering entre. Whether you choose a Chicken Pot Pie or a Seared Ahi Tuna, you’ll enjoy every bite. However, Tavern at the Park doesn’t make choosing dinner an easy feat. Entrees vary from chicken, pork, seafood, beef, lamb, as well as pastas and Tavern Classics. We suggest looking at the online menu before you visit; otherwise, you’ll be choosing for hours! Meanwhile, we have a few recommendations, too. The Butternut Squash Ravioli was scrumptious. But we also liked the Brick Chicken (covered in spices, herbs, and lemon) as well as the Sliced Leg of Lamb. For city dwellers, Tavern at the Park is the ideal dining spot. The restaurant does accept reservations, which can be made online or by calling (312) 552-0070.

Here are two of the best worldwide restaurants you can find in Chicago.Bubba Gump Shrimp CompanyShrimp lovers look no further than Bubba Gump Shrimp. Not only is the seafood delicious, but many of the items are named after the classic film Forest Gump: like Lt. Dan’s Drunken Shrimp (served in a Bourbon Sauce). Shrimp lovers should definitely try the Traditional Shrimp Cocktail (ten jumbo shrimps and cocktail sauce) and the Shrimper’s Heaven (with four different kinds of shrimp).Hard Rock CafIt doesn’t get more rocking than a big burger. Other delicious meals range from the Hickory-Smoked Bar-B-Que Chicken to the Famous Fajitas.

If you’re looking to enjoy a dynamic dining experience, there’s no better restaurant than Carnivale. With Latin cuisine, vibrant colored walls, and dance-inspiring sounds, you’ll feel like dancing even if you don’t know how. Before you’ve had a chance to indulge your tastes, the restaurant stimulates your other senses. The restaurant makes a bold statement with its bright red entrance and multicolored sign. Inside showcases the same burst of color. There are paintings with blurred shades of red, pink, green, and yellow, as well as a ceiling piece of bright colored tiles. Even the light fixtures offer interchanging red and yellow tops; similar to a circus tent. While the dcor is already impressive, you’ll be more blown away by the cuisine. All menu items originate from Latin culture. During lunch, Carnivale dishes include the Yucatan Chicken Soup (with ingredients like avocado and roasted chiles) as well as the Roasted Vegetable Sandwich (including portabella mushrooms, lemon aioli, piquillo peppers, and more). However, if the previous dishes don’t suite your tastes, they are only 2 of 19 lunch specials. For dinner, the menu holds a bigger selection of Latin delicacies. One of our favorites is the Pernil; paired with fried plantains, beans, and Puerto Rican rice, this rum pork dish is scrumptious. Other mouth-watering choices include the Gnocchi (ricotta dumplings) and Pollo Estilo Billy (chicken rubbed with spices).Topped with a Raspberry Mojito or a Carnivale Margarita, and a little Latin music, you’re on your way to one great night!
